February 24, 2010 Board Meeting

Members present were: Chad Johnston, Scott Smith, Jim Hoagland, Ira McKillip, Lacey Hebbert, Penney Minor, Lorie Wendell, Ray Brown, Darin Boots, Dave From, & Jandi Fanning

Rule book revisions were finalized and approved.  The rulebook will be printed in early March and will be mailed out to all members with membership cards.

The Board discussed the Finals Awards for 2010.  Cactus saddles will be awarded, along with Bob Berg buckles.  Penney is in charge of the saddle bid and will be working with Cactus to order the saddles.  Penney, Lorie, & Lacey were appointed to the buckle committee to choose a design for each award category.  Jandi will put in the order and be in contact with Bob Berg.

Benkelman, Alliance, & Wilsonville rodeos were approved for the 2010 season and rodeo information will soon be posted to the website.  The Kimball rodeo series was discussed, but no dates have been approved yet. The Board is waiting for more information on added money, judges, and dates to see if they conflict with existing rodeos. The series finals will not be approved because it will not be open for everyone to enter.

The board approved taking credit card payments for membership application fees & blacklist fines.  This feature will be available sometime in March.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m. central time, at Ole’s in Paxton, NE.
