NSRA PROCEDURES FOR CHALLENGING THE DRAW ON THE BOOKS

The NSRA will be using the same entry system for the 2007 rodeo season that has been used for the last five years.

Nebraska Entry Line, Phone (308) 635-8463, located at Mitchell, NE will be taking entries and setting up the books for NSRA first approved rodeos.

Entry times are from 10 am to 7pm MDT. Call Backs are from 3 pm to 7pm MDT.

Generally the entries will be on Monday of the week of the rodeo, with callbacks on Tuesday for rodeos that begin on Friday or later. If a rodeo begins on Thursday or earlier in the week, the entries will be taken the preceding Monday. At entry time you will be given a number. This number represents the location on our tape of your entry. Please hang onto this number until after callbacks. If there is a problem at callback time, this number will help us find your entry more quickly. At callback time you will receive another number: this is the number that you need to be able to produce at the rodeo if there is a problem on the books. Other guidelines for our entry system are buddy groups are limited to four members (a team roping team counts as two members), buddy groups all need to be entered on the same telephone call, if at all possible please do not ask for results or standings during entry times because other individuals are trying to get through to enter the rodeo. Please contact the other members of your buddy group prior to entries and decide who will be in charge of entries. Last year we had several buddy groups entered two and three times in a rodeo. At three o'clock in the morning when we are setting up books and can not get our counts to come out because the same buddy group is entered three times we are not happy campers. An attempt will be made this year to post results, standings, and day sheets to our web page. Hopefully by doing this our members will have more timely information. Please keep in mind, if you enter someone in a rodeo and they are a no show you are responsible for their fees. Another thing to keep in mind, if a member buddies with a nonmember the member drops to nonmember status for drawing purposes. We do not move nonmembers up to member status. Every effort will be made to see that the books are correct before they are mailed to the local secretary.

If there appears to be a problem or misunderstanding of how the books are set, please use the following procedures.

1. If a contestant wishes to question the entries as they appear, the contestant will need to provide the local secretary with the callback verification number. If the contestant is unable to produce the callback number all rights to question the books are forfeited.

2. Next the contestant will need to post a $50 bond in addition to paying the normal entry fee. This check is to be made out to the local secretary. It will be held until the central entry office can research & verify the books on the next Monday that the central entry office is open.

3. Once, the bond is posted, the contestant will have the opportunity to compete. If the contestant places and receives a check, the local secretary will hold that check until the tapes have been researched and the entry confirmed. Upon determining that the contestant is correct, the bond check and the winnings will be mailed immediately to the contestant and any points added to the standings.

4. Should it be determined when researching the tapes that the books were correct and the contestant was wrong, the contestant will forfeit the $50 bond and entry fees. The local secretary and stock contractor will split the bond for their extra time and efforts in drawing stock and changing sheets. The contestant also forfeits any winnings or standing points. Winnings will be redistributed to the other contestants.
